What are Essential Oils?

Essential Oils are concentrated liquids extracted from certain species of flowers, grasses, fruits, leaves, roots and trees.

How do essential oils help?

Essential oils are absorbed through the skin and mucus membranes. Each essential oil has its own unique medicinal value and effect on the body. Blending several essential oils together has a synergistic effect as the essential oils complement each other and work together on the body.

What is the difference between a cream, a lotion and a balm?

Creams and lotions are moisturizing and balms are healing. Balms do not contain water, so they will heal and protect, but they do not add any moisture to your skin. Creams and lotion contain water and add moisture to the skin. In addition, they have healing properties. Creams are thicker than lotions.

What is the shelf life of the products?

The Creams and Lotions and Sugar Scrubs have a 6 month shelf life. The balms and massage oils have a shelf life of one year.

What are the benefits of the ingredients?

I strive to use the highest quality oils and other ingredients. Each ingredient has its own properties; a description of benefits is listed below:

* Allantoin - Allantoin is a unique product that is used for skin protection. Allantoin is a white, odorless, crystalline powder. Allantoin is also used to hasten the growth of new, healthy tissue. For the temporary protection of minor cuts, scrapes, burns and sunburn. Helps prevent and temporarily protects chafed, chapped, cracked, or wind burned skin and lips. Relieves dryness and softens cold sores and fever blisters. Helps treat and prevent diaper rash. Protects chafed skin/minor skin irritation due to/associated with diaper rash and helps protect from/seal out wetness. Allantoin is considered to be nontoxic, nonirritating and non-allergenic.

* Aloe Vera Gel - Aloe Vera Gel isn't an actual gel. The product is thick when the Aloe leaf is first cut, but after a few minutes, an enzymatic reaction causes it to become liquid. It is the consistency of water. Aloe Vera Gel is reputed to be an excellent moisturizer.

* Avocado Oil – Good for all skin types, especially dry and dehydrated skin. May help relieve eczema and is a very penetrating oil. Contains vitamin B complex, A, E and D, potassium, pantothenic acid and other fatty acids.

* Beeswax – A solid wax made by bees

* Borage Oil - A culinary herb with a long history for promoting good health. This oil is rich in GLA and is reported to help psoriasis and eczema.
